Listed as a historic site since 1924 and classed as 'un des plus beaux villages de France' (one of France's 100 most beautiful villages), Locronan is located just a few kilometres from the Bay of Douarnenez. This beautiful Cité de Caractère village has retained all its splendour. A main Breton tourist spot, it is home to exceptional architectural and historical heritage sites. Located in the centre of the village, the church of Saint-Ronan rises up proudly, overlooking the main square and its well.
From the 14th century, Locronan was home to sailcloth weaving. Grand houses still standing in the historic centre of the village testify to this glorious past.
